IVF Explained
01:07
IVF involves fertilizing a women's egg outside her uterus.
Female pelvic problems are very common, partially due to the very delicate nature of the reproductive tissues and these pelvic factor problems account for about one-third of all causes of infertility. Endometriosis is defined as a presence of cells that normally line the uterine cavity called endometrium in locations outside the uterus. Endometriosis is a common problem thought to exist in about 10% of reproductive-age women and 30 to 35% of infertile women. Endometriosis is often associated with pelvic pain during the menstrual flow but many women have absolutely no pain from this disease. All stages of endometriosis, however, from minimal to severe are strongly associated with reduced fertility.
